With over 50 years of combined experience, our co-founders Matt Jones and Todd Ussery have honed their skills and built lasting relationships to deliver unparalleled results.
A Legacy of Excellence
Matt and Todd's journey began in 1999 at Palmetto Traditional Homes, a highly successful South Carolina-based home builder. After years of developing their expertise, they co-founded Sabal Homes along with Jason Simpson in 2005, in Charleston, South Carolina. Sabal became a renowned home builder throughout South Carolina, earning local and national recognition for their exceptional planning and design. In 2019, Sabal was acquired by Toll Brothers™, America’s Luxury Home Builder, further testament to their passion for creating remarkable homes.
Passion-Driven, Community-Focused
Now, with Bluestem, Matt and Todd continue their lifelong passion for building homes and being part of a wonderful community. As co-founders, they bring their deep industry knowledge and unwavering commitment to every project. Matt oversees land acquisition and financial operations, while Todd leads the company's purchasing, construction, and customer service efforts.
